there are millions of different types of herbs that are supposed to work as a natural remedy to stop hair loss. Many do not work at all and some even induce further loss and occasionally speed it even further. The last you want is to wake up in the morning, look in the mirror and realise you have lost more hair. Not knowing why.
You do not want to use anything that makes matters worse do you. So what herbal remedies work? Read on.
Saw Palmetto
Saw palmetto is a well-known herbal treatment for thinning hair and to prevent baldness and for it’s capacity to slow down loss and stimulate new hair growth. It works to block DHT, the primary reason behind most loss of hair. This stops production of it in a similar way to which finasteride does, making saw palmetto an effective hair treatment, without the side effects associated with non-herbal pattern baldness treatments.
Stinging Nettle
Stinging nettle is another well-known hair remedy for pattern baldness that has been used as a natural remedy for dealing with hair problems for a long-time. It works by preventing testosterone from producing DHT. Stinging nettle works best to prevent loss when used with saw palmetto and Pygeum. It is effective at working to promote hair growth and works to stop pattern baldness when used with this combination.
Pygeum
THIS is a herbal remedy for hair problems that works to stop the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase. This is an enzyme that controls production of DHT. It also works by fighting off production of DHT from testosterone. Using this with saw palmetto and stinging nettle works well to stop loss in it’s tracks.
Anyone suffering from hair thinning or loss should take care to avoid chemical treatments that carry numerous side effects. Natural treatments to stop pattern baldness are not only safe but they are very effective too with proven results to stop you losing your hair.

One of peoples biggest concerns when considering going on propecia or dht blockers is the possible side effects. Propecia which is the marketing name for finasteride is the FDA approved prescription only drug. It’s certainly stronger than most natural dht blockers and is usually prescribed to those with moderate hair loss. It’s also commonly prescribed to patients that are in the early stages of hair loss but who’s hair loss is rapid.
Dht blockers on the other hand are made from natural ingredients and are available over without prescription. As dht blockers are from natural milder ingredients it is very uncommon to get any side-effects. Side effects would only really occur if you happen to have an allergy to some of the dht inhibitors ingredients.
Men and women get great results from dht pills If taken on time and it’s also common to see them use dht pills in conjunction with finesteride or rogaine. After all as well as the dht blocking properties of provillus they also contain ingredients to help make hair naturally shinier and healthier looking.
Below is a list of the most common side effects of propecia :
Propecia works by reducing enzyme 5 alpha reductase which is responsible for producing dht.
- Decreased sex drive
- Decreased volume of ejaculate
- Impotence
- Breast tenderness or enlargement (less than one percent)
It’s common for men to experience some of these effects in the first month to 6 weeks of them taking propecia. These effects usually then subside. If not then you should be consulting with your gp as this is not normal.
WARNING.
Do not be fooled by those website that offer propecia for sale. These are counterfeits that don’t work. Propecia is prescription only and you should be consulting your doctor anyway when considering taking them. Propecia pills are usually taken once daily in full, half or ¼ tab form depending on what you were prescribed.
Propecia pills costs average usually at about $1- $1.50 US per day. You should not be taling propecia if you are under 18 years of age and women considering taking propecia need to factor in a lot more when making a decision as propecia can have differing side effects in women.
