How horrible does it feel when you go to get your hair cut while you are worried about it thinning?

I remember like yesterday that sickening feeling when it came to cut my hair. Pathetic I know, but I remember even walking by half a dozen hair dressers hoping that there was no one I knew in the salon. I’d also be terribly nervous while getting the hair cut in-case someone I knew walked in. You see I’d been using toppik to hide the thinning and prior to getting a hair cut I’d have to wash my hair, therefore washing out all the toppik nano fibers that shielded my rapidly thinning hair.

Sitting in the barbers chair, I’d even be afraid to look up in-case I got a glimpse of something I know I wouldn’t like in the mirror. Seeing all that scalp underneath wet hair used to send a shudder down my spine. I’d count the seconds till the barber finished so I could pay him, put on my cap and head straight home to re-apply toppik uk.

One positive was, I had stumbled accross an excellent barber who I felt comfortable around. He actually cut my hair in such away that it looked quite well even while thinning. When I’d thicken my hair out with toppik, it would look great. I’d feel a new lease of confidence after getting hair cut with favorite barber. I even got lots of compliments from family and friends about how well I was looking.

Cutting a long story short, I talked with my barber about my hair loss concerns. He was very appreciative of what I was going through and it was him that got me to listen to a stop hair loss radio interview that literally changed my life. It was here I met the surgeon that turned me away from hair loss surgery and put me on treatments that rapidaly stoped my hair thinning.

As my hair was thinning (but follicles were still revivable) the Dr prescribed me propecia (Finesteride) . After six months  my hair had improved considerably and my dosage of propecia was reduced from 1 tablet per day to 1/4 table per day. I also started to take dht blockers called Provillus . Today my hair is in great condition, yes I still take propecia and provillus dht inhibitors but thats a tiny tiny price to pay for the happiness and life changing confidence it has brought me.

I really hope that if you are currently in the painful situation that I was in just a few years ago, that you take action immediately. You deserve better than being miserable and felling like less of a man over thinning hair.

Step 1 : Go get som dht blockers, I cant recommend Provillus highly enough.

Step 2 :Seek some medical advice about your options and maybe prescribed a course of propecia the accelerate the hair healing process.

True side effects of propecia and dht blockers

One of peoples biggest concerns when considering going on propecia or dht blockers is the possible side effects. Propecia which is the marketing name for finasteride is the FDA approved prescription only drug. It’s certainly stronger than most natural dht blockers and is usually prescribed to those with moderate hair loss. It’s also commonly prescribed to patients that are in the early stages of hair loss but who’s hair loss is rapid.

Dht blockers on the other hand  are made from natural ingredients and are available over without prescription. As dht blockers are from natural milder ingredients it is very uncommon to get any side-effects. Side effects would only really occur if you happen to have an allergy to some of the dht inhibitors ingredients.

Men and women get great results from dht pills If taken on time and it’s also common to see them use dht pills in conjunction with finesteride or rogaine. After all as well as the dht blocking properties of provillus they also contain ingredients to help make hair naturally shinier and healthier looking.

Below is a list of the most common side effects of propecia :

Propecia works by reducing enzyme 5 alpha reductase which is responsible for producing dht.

  • Decreased sex drive
  • Decreased volume of ejaculate
  • Impotence
  • Breast tenderness or enlargement (less than one percent)

It’s common for men to experience some of these effects in the first month to 6 weeks of them taking propecia. These effects usually then subside. If not then you should be consulting with your gp as this is not normal.

WARNING.

Do not be fooled by those website that offer propecia for sale. These are counterfeits that don’t work. Propecia is prescription only and you should be consulting your doctor anyway when considering taking them. Propecia pills are usually taken once daily in full, half or ¼ tab form depending on what you were prescribed.

Propecia pills costs average usually at about $1- $1.50 US per day. You should not be taling propecia if you are under 18 years of age and women considering taking propecia need to factor in a lot more when making a decision as propecia can have differing side effects in women.

You Wont Go Bald By Doing The Following :

There are many silly myths that people truly believe about hair loss. Below I list the most common myths so you can stop unnecessarily worrying if it’s adding to your hair loss problem or will cause hair loss sometime in your future.

  1. Wearing Hats will cause Hair Loss. – This is completely false. Hair loss is simply down to genetics and wearing or not wearing hats certainly has no effect on your genetics.
  2. Hair Loss is proportional to stress in your life. – Severe traumatic stress has been know to cause temporary hair loss called telogen effeluvium. This is temporary and subsides when the stress has been treated. Daily stresses such as money, jobs, family etc have no effect on your hair.
  3. You cannot treat hair loss. – Learn to live with it!!. Absolutely false, hair loss can be treated and better yet hair loss can be prevented. People with considerable hair loss can use hair restoration techniques to redistribute hair from backs and sides of head to bald areas.
  4. You cannot prevent hair loss. – Again, thankfully this is false. Many treatments such as dht inhibitors and FDA approved propecia has been proven to halt hair loss in most men and women. It’s does not replace dead hair follicles but it does prevent further thinning and damage to hair follicles as well as restore brittle thin hair even peach fuzz.
  5. Shaving your head will help your hair to grow back stronger. – Afraid this truly is a myth. Shaving your head does not effect your hair in anyway, dying follicles will grow back as before, thin and weak i.e until they eventually die and dead follicles will remain dead.
  6. Hair loss comes from your mother’s side of the family. False, hair loss is genetic and it can be passed on from either side of the family. Androgenetic alopecia is the most common cause of hair loss.
  7. Showering, towel drying and brushing hair can accelerate hair loss. The only link here is that you will notice more dying , thinned hair falling out as a result of friction from touching the hair with towel or brush. The As hair dies, its rooting in the follicle becomes weak and feeble. Therefore its easy to knock the hair out form the root. This does not alter hair loss process in any way, it just removes dying loose hair that will eventually fall out any way if not treated.

So there you have it folks. Remember that these are just myths and don’t fool yourself by thinking that you are reversing, stopping of negating hair loss in anyway by obeying the hair loss myths. If you have been reading my articles, you should now know that the first step you MUST take in treating your hair loss is get on a course of dht blocker. I personally use provillus and am more than happy with my hair. Results are visible in weeks for those whose hair is starting to thin and results may take a few months for those whos hair loss has progressed somewhat.

Stay away from laser hair loss comb

The laser hair loss comb simply does not do what it says on the tin. It’s tempting to think such a device could comb your thinning hair troubles away. The truth is, these devices have yet to be proven. They are basically hyped up fragile, awkward and very expensive combs.

Yes, people are having some degree of success with laser hair treatment in clinics but the equipment used here is far more advanced and effective than the current hair combs.

A friend of mine ordered a laser hair max comb almost 2 years ago and unfortunately has not seen any improvements in his hair. In fact, his hair thinning has progressed considerably. Unlucky for him, he ignored all other forms of more proven treatments such as dht blockers or the prescription drug propecia which could have halted and reversed his balding. He was the perfect candidate to start taking dht inhibitors as he was in the very early stages of hair loss when he decided to try the laser hair comb.

His treatment consisted of using the laser hair comb twice daily. 10 minutes per use. Today at least he has seen sence and has started taking propecia which was recommended by his doctor. He has been taking propecia no for 3 months and has not suffered any side effects. He hasnt seen much visual improvements yet but is sure the thinning has stopped. In time so of the damages but still alive follicles will grow back to full health thus replacing that unsightly peach fuzz with strong hair.

Ok, now I know that one unsuccessful case than I know of doesn’t write off the laser hair comb asa balding solution but the fact is I haven’t meet or know of anyone getting genuine results. (Apart from those models in the ads of course :) )

I will be researching the laser hair comb much further and I will keep you posted on my findings. Until then if you are worried about thinning hair, then don’t shell out $900 bucks on a laser comb and expect your problems to be solved. Or if you are intent on buying one then make sure you are taking a course of dht blocker also. The dht inhibitors I highly recommend are Provillus.

Causes and solutions for hair loss

Hair loss has always been a problem. It’s certainly not a new condition and people have been trying to find solutions for hundreds of years. One this we do know is that hair loss and male pattern baldness was mainly down to hereditary over a century ago. The many chemicals, diet changes and environmental conditions we are exposed to today have added many new triggers and accelerators for hair loss.

Adrogenetic alopecia and genetics.

Most medical experts agree that male pattern baldness and female hair loss is mainly genetic. Studies have found that we inherit this dna programming from our mothers side of the family. Does this mean that we are doomed if hair loss is in our blood. Good news is : Absolutely Not.

If genetics are the cause of your hair loss, whats happening is your gene programming and hormone balance is programmed in such away that dht (Dihydrotestostrone) is not being fought off and balanced like it used to and begin to damage your hair follicles.

Genetic hair loss usually occurs over a period of years although some men with male pattern baldness can go completely bald in 12 to 24 months. You will start to notice your hair thinning.

  • More hairs on the pillow
  • It will feel different and brittle when you run your hands through it
  • More hairs on your hair brush
  • More hair in the shower
Males baldness tends to begin in either the temples or crown while women what suffer from hair loss usually lose it in large patches in random areas.
So what should you do when your hair starts thinning?
The good news is that thanks to modern science and medicine hair loss is now completely unavoidable. There are several different solutions to hair loss out there. Some are more effective than others and some are down right scams. Below I will list some of the proven solutions out there. Depending on how advanced your hair thinning is, 1 or a combination of products may be needed.
  • Propecia
  • Rogain
  • Laser Comb
  • Minioxidyl
  • DHT Blockers (Provillus – Excellent hair loss prevention : Reverses effects of genetic DHT)
  • Hair Restoration Surgery(Expensive : best option for advanced to totally bald men)
Propecia and Rogain are probably to most commercially well know due to the high exposure and press from television and radio adverts. Propecia is a prescription only FDA approved drug. Make sure you dont purshase propecia online as its most likely fake. If you are going with propecia you can consult with your GP and he/she should also be able to supply the hair loss drug.
Rogain is a usually administered in topical liquid or foam for. I is available at pharmacists. Rogain is pretty messy to apply as it tends to wet and make your hair feel rather greasy.
There are also many hair loss cover up solutions on the market today. These products do NOT combat or solve your hair loss problem. They are simply cosmetic cover ups of your thinning areas. Some well know cover ups are : Toppik, Couvre and Toupees.
For a person in the early stages of hair loss, by far his/her best option is using dht inhibitors and by far the most evvestive dht blocker on the market today is Provillus
